FOLLICULAR UNIT TRANSPLANTATION – FUT HAIR TRANSPLANTATION

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) is the hair transplantation method which is supported by the latest technologies and makes excellent progress worldwide. FUT technique applications are in the second place in the hair transplantation techniques because of its scientific progress.

As Estehair we don’t apply FUT technique no longer because of excellent progress in FUE technique since year 2007.

Here’s some information about FUT technique below.

What is follicular Unit?

It is the process which the follicles that are located between two ears are distrubuted as unary, binary and tenary to the follicular units with the help of an expert team.

All hairs located on the head grow in small hair bouquets that are called Follicular Units. A follicular unit consists of (1-4) terminals of follicles in an adult.

On the hair loss effected areas of the head skin, the healthy terminal hairs are replaced by small and short hairs called “miniaturized” hairs. Follicular unit seems like small groups on the skin.

How can we get a follicular unit?

To get the exact amount, the follicular units “hair density” are counted and measured on the area where the hair transplantation will be applied per cm².

To get the exact amount of hair density, the band length and width must be calculated carefully.

Grafts are taken from the lower part of the head skin by surgery. The tissue is taken at one time to not to damage the follicular unit. This technique is the most important speciality of Follicular unit transplantation. This prevents Follicular units and also follicles from damages. Unlike mini-micrografting technique, this technique prevents the follicular units and follicles from getting damaged with the help of multiple edged blades.

The covering operation of the donor area and the scars

The part that is cut from the skin and covered by stiches which are taken 15 days later. The scar can not be noticed unless your haircut is very short. The obtained result is quite natural, because this technique doesn’t affect the natural integrity of head and hair.

The disadvantages of FUT technique:
