Is it true that there is lumpiness and/or dents where liposuction is applied?
In every liposuction attempt there is this risk. In normal conditions this should not happen. In some rare occasions, it can happen as a result of over-suctioning from certain parts than the others or uncontrollable fat cell fractionations or lysis in some parts. Especially, when too thick canulas are used, the risk increases. Therefore mostly too thin cannulas should be preferred.
What happens if weight is gained after that?
In case of gaining weight, there will be fat accumulation on liposuction area for sure however this ratio will be lower than before.
Is liposuction a weight-losing element for overweight people?
Absolutely not. These operations are applied to give shape to body contours. For example, it is not possible for a woman of 70 kilos to be 60 kg after this operation.
Is Liposuction a weight-reducing operation?
No. On the contrary, after getting close to your ideal weight with diet and exercise, liposuction is ideal to remove your regional fat outgrowth. For overweight patients liposuction is not appropriate.
Can cellulites be removed by liposuction?
Cellulites can not be destroyed by liposuction however can be reduced. As one of the factors increasing the cellulite appearance is regional fat outgrowth, when the pressure caused by the fat compartments decrease, the cellulite appearance will decrease. A perfect result should not be expexted from this deduction.
I gave birth, when can I have liposuction?
Liposuction should be done at least one year after the laboring. Therefore, most of the weight gained in pregnancy should be lost.
What is the most important risk of liposuction application?
Especially in case the safety limit is exceeded fat embolism risk is high. Embolism is mixing of a particle with blood and clogging a smaller diameter vein. Clogging of the vein can cause destruction in organ tissue that feeds and cell death.
What is tumescent liposuction?
In classical liposuction application, cannulas connected to a vacuum motor were inserted from a small hole and the fat tissue was removed. Today, in tumescent technique which is applied widely, a certain volume of liquid, which has some medicines in certain ratios in it, is injected first to the region which will have liposuction. Adrenalin within this liquid decreases both loss of blood and purpleness after operation substantially by constricting the veins.
Does fat re-form in regions that had liposuction?
Humans have constant fat cell numbers from birth. When we gain weight the number of fat cells does not increase but their sizes increase. For example a human-being, who was born with 1000 fat cells in his/her hip region, can have 700-800 of them to be vacuumed in liposuction operation. The remaining 200 cells can never grow that much although you gain weight, so by no means weight can be gained from the operated regions.
Does the operation leaves scar?
Liposuction operation can be done with small half cm scars in hidable regions of the body. In time these small scars become hardly visible.
